We are part of a large, worldwide community of traditional dancers! These are a few organizations and groups that teach, perform, and support Anglo-American dance styles like rapper sword dancing.
Great Meadows Morris & Sword - Candyrapper started as a part of Great Meadows Morris & Sword, and GMMS is still going strong today! Anyone between ages 14-18 in the Boston area should definitely check out Great Meadows.

"Great Meadows Morris and Sword is a group of high school-age students from the Greater Boston area who perform traditional English morris and rapper sword dances." |
Country Dance & Song Society - In addition to our time on GMMS, many of us also learned a lot about rapper sword dancing at Country Dance & Song Society camp sessions. This organization is invaluable for their camp and education programs, community organizing support, and dance and music resources.

"We are an education and arts service nonprofit for dancers, musicians, singers, callers, and organizers. We specialize in the dances, music, and songs from English and North American traditions." |
New England Folk Festival Association - NEFFA is an organization that throws an annual festival that all Candyrapper VSOP dancers grew up attending. It is an invaluable time for New England ritual dance teams to gather and perform for one another. The concerts and social dances are always inspiring as well! The NEFFA Thursday Contra Dance series is where, in high school, many of us learned how to properly give weight. This serves us well every time we dance "Prince of Wales..."

"This yearly event attracts thousands from New England, the country, and the rest of the world to its wonderful mix of particpatory dance (folk, square and contra), folk music and song, international food, crafts, performances, family-oriented activities, and much, much more." |
